If you look in your rearview mirror and see the "S" badge, please move to the right lane. I recently had the pleasure of test-driving the 2007 Audi S/RS series, and I'm convinced that all three will, for the most part, go toe-to-toe with just about any two-door sports car. These rockets--all sedans one bigger than the next--have a perfect blend of massive power (420bhp to 450bhp), understated yet elegant design, and progressive technology. And I promise you that the engine (taken from the Lamborghini V-10) and exhaust noise turns heads even at slow speeds. Even their good looks come in handy: A Canadian patrolman clocked my S6 at 130mph. in a 60 zone and didn't arrest me because he liked the car so much. The RS4 is for the true sports enthusiast: With its V-8 420bhp and six-speed manual gearbox, this car can keep up with just about anything on the road. Thinking luxury sedan? The S8 delivers both speed and premium comfort and an ear-pleasing Bang and Olufsen system, and even made a cameo in the movie Ronin years back (one of my favorite car chase scenes). But the perfect blend of it all might just be the medium-size S6, which as it happens also got the Hollywood treatment in Layer Cake as the car of choice of--who else--future James Bond star Daniel Craig. --JM
